How Amazon Flex blocks work — and why speed matters
Amazon Flex drivers compete for delivery blocks — time slots where you pick up and deliver packages. These blocks are released in waves, and the best-paying ones disappear within seconds.
**Why speed is everything**
When a good block drops, dozens of drivers tap Accept at the same time. The Flex app processes requests in order. If you're even 2–3 seconds late, it's gone.
Human reaction time (seeing the block, reading it, tapping) is typically 3–8 seconds. FlexBot reacts in under 500 milliseconds.
**Block waves**
Blocks tend to drop at predictable times — often early morning, around shift changes, and when drivers cancel. FlexBot learns your market's patterns and polls more aggressively during peak windows.
